The Elizabeth Métis Settlement is located on Highway 28 and is part of the M.D. of Bonnyville. The Settlement is approximately 3 ½ hours from Edmonton, Alberta and 32 kilometres south from the City of Cold Lake. Elizabeth Métis Settlement was founded in 1939. It covers 25,641 square kilometres of land and is one of the smallest of all the Settlements. The governance, services, departments, and any programs for the community of Elizabeth are maintained and managed directly from the Administrations Office. Over the years, the members have gradually been opening home-based businesses and getting into the entrepreneurial spirit. Their businesses today are vibrant and strong.

Elizabeth Métis Settlement is located on the Cold Lake Oil Sands deposit. The community continues to prosper on the strength of our oil and gas industries and is always looking to foster new partnerships and ventures in order to capitalize on this growth.
