Whitefish Lake First Nation

Our Community is home to approximately 2378 members of which 600 are off-reservation and 1778 reside on the reservation.

Whitefish Lake First Nation #128 community is located in the northeastern part of Alberta covering 50 sq kms. Just 220 Kilometers NE of Edmonton, 90 Kilometers NW of St. Paul and 68 Kilometers West of Bonnyville, Alberta.

Alberta’s economic base is defined primarily by the oil and gas industry and Whitefish Lake First Nation is strategically located in close proximity to the South Athabasca Oil Sands and the Cold Lake Oil Sands. The First Nation is located strategically near Highway 36, the High Load Corridor for major oil development products. Drilling, seismic, and pipeline construction contribute significantly to the local economy.
