The region boasts over 150 lakes, including one of Western Canada’s largest inland marina (Cold Lake) and Alberta’s 6th and 7th largest lakes – Cold Lake and Lac La Biche. Over 50% of the sport fish caught in Alberta are taken in the Alberta HUB region and 20% of Alberta’s white sand beaches are found here.
We have eight provincial parks, 10 provincial recreation areas and 14 golf courses. There are also over 300 species of birds, with Lac La Biche being known as the provincial Bird Sanctuary.
The Alberta HUB region mirrors the Tourism area known as Alberta’s Lakeland and is complimented by Kalyna Country. The region is rich in history and cultural diversity and is also famous for the Giants of the Prairies, a series of roadside attractions.
