County of St. Paul

The County of St. Paul, with a population of over 6,000 and a trading area of 35,000, is
diversified with a strong agriculture industry complemented by gas and oil, manufacturing and a
growing tourism presence.

The County of St. Paul’s diversified agricultural economy helps to make this one of the biggest
industry sectors in the region. The County boasts 680 farms (2016) producing coarse grains
such as wheat, barley and canola, as well as year over year increased peas and hemp
production. The County is home to a large number of cattle, dairy, hog and poultry farms.

The eastern side of the County of St. Paul, located on the Cold Lake Oil sands area, boasts the
presence of established upstream oil service companies to service the industry. With
reasonable land costs developed infrastructure and direct access to markets make the County a
wise choice for investment.

Tourism continues to see growth in the region and the County and offers excellent investment
and recreational opportunities. A major part of Alberta’s Iron Horse Trail winds it way through
the County providing breath-taking views and development opportunities. Provincial historic
sites include the Fort George-Buckingham House in the Elk Point area, and the Frog Lake
Memorial Site in Frog Lake.

Highway 36 and 41 run north/south through the County providing access to U.S. markets to the
south and the oil sands areas of the north. Highway 28, a main east/west highway, runs
through the County connecting major development to suppliers. The St. Paul and Elk Point
Airports offer quality air services.
